IDS further reinforces its services

Free of charge to Cologne from the metropolitan Rhine Ruhr region

The global dental industry is preparing its visit to IDS, the leading global trade fair in Cologne. The exhibitors and visitors from all over the world are now booking flights, planning their arrival by train and reserving overnight stays for the 38th International Dental Show from 12 to 16 March 2019. In order to guarantee the exhibitors and the visitors the best possible framework conditions, Koelnmesse is further expanding its service offer for IDS: The already free usage of the Rhine-Sieg public transport network is going to be extended for IDS 2019 for the first time to include the entire Rhine Ruhr transport network. Over the short period of time of good seven days - including the assembly and dismantling days - leading trade fairs like IDS generate every two years several hundreds of thousands of overnight stays in Cologne and the region. Armed with the IDS 2019 admission ticket, which doubles up as a travel ticket for the Rhine-Sieg public transport network (VRS) and for the first time for the Rhine-Ruhr public transport network (VRR), the trade fair guests can choose from attractive overnight offers in the outskirts of Cologne and the entire Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region. Thanks to the oustanding infrastructure connections of the fair grounds, the cities of Düsseldorf and Bonn are reachable in under 30 minutes and the metropolitan Rhine-Ruhr area comprising of the cities Duisburg, Essen, Gelsenkirchen, Mülheim or Dortmund can be reached within 45 to 60 minutes. Trade fair guests, who arrive at Düsseldorf Airport or who stay in a hotel in Essen, can use the regional express trains, suburban trains, trams and city buses and thus reach the Messe Köln-Deutz station and/or trade fair quickly and conveniently. Furthermore, this additional service also offers accommodation options of all categories in smaller cities and communities that lie on the Deutsche Bahn routes connecting the surrounding region with the Cologne trade fair location (Düren, Leverkusen, Solingen, Troisdorf, Siegburg, Hennef).
