No Copy! supports fight against plagiarism

Koelnmesse initiative designed to protect industrial copyright

The more attractive a trade show and the more innovative its exhibitors, the greater the danger of plagiarism and product piracy. Thus IDS - International Dental Show - 2009 in Cologne, the leading trade show worldwide for the international dental world, may awaken the criminal energy of plagiarists. IDS's organisers, the GFDI Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Dental-Industrie mbH, the commercial enterprise of the Association of German Dental Manufacturers (VDDI), and Koelnmesse GmbH, are fighting to protect exhibitors at IDS from imitators using every available opportunity. Its package of measures and the options available are diverse. Product piracy means the illegal reproduction or imitation of products that are protected by industrial copyright. Brands, patents, utility models and aesthetic models may all be copyrighted. Should Koelnmesse GmbH receive concrete information regarding existing or potential breaches of copyright, it writes to the exhibitors affected before the event and refers them to its conditions of participation and to ensuing legal consequences. In addition, it retains the right to exclude exhibitors against whom a legal ruling has been issued as a result of product piracy from the next event of the same kind. Should exhibitors notice that their industrial copyright has been breached by other exhibitors during the trade fair, they should first of all present the "imitator" with a formal request to cease and desist and require them to complete a declaration to that effect. If the "imitator" is not prepared to do this, the exhibitor should obtain an interim injunction - normally through a lawyer - against the further exhibition, promotion and "circulation" of the imitation. Koelnmesse's No Copy! brochure has lots of useful information in relation to this. It is available for download at www.koelnmesse.de . IDS: Optimal quality in relation to presentations, services and accommodation
IDS - International Dental Show - 2009 in Cologne is the world's leading trade show for dentistry and dental technology. The next IDS, which will take place from 24 to 28 March, will be the most attractive and comprehensive ever. The IDS halls 3, 4, 10 and 11 are ideally connected to one another via the trade show boulevard, which serves as a feeder path and promenade, and other arcades surrounding the piazza. Short distances are guaranteed. The southern entrance offers direct connections to the Köln Messe / Deutz train station and Cologne's city centre including the cathedral. IDS takes place in Cologne every two years and is organized by the GFDI Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Dental-Industrie mbH, the commercial enterprise of the Association of German Dental Manufacturers (VDDI) and staged by Koelnmesse GmbH, Cologne."
