With over 1,750 exhibitors from approximately 55 countries, this year's 33rd International Dental Show, IDS, is not only the largest international Dental Show ever - it is also the world's leading information and innovation platform for dentistry. Proof of this is the new schedule of presentations in Speakers' Corner IDS Hall 3.1, near Entrance South. During all five days of the show, from 24 to 28 March 2009, several speakers will be making 30-minute presentations on the latest trends, innovations, products and methods from the research laboratories and think-tanks of the many exhibitors participating. The topic areas in Speakers' Corner are as versatile as the fair itself: for example implant systems, dentures, tooth aesthetics, CAD/CAM, laser technology, practice organization and much more. A constantly updated overview of the participants as well as the topics and dates of the presentations is available for download on the Internet www.ids cologne.de (For visitors/Supporting programme). In addition to Speakers' Corner, the interesting range of specialised topics on offer at the IDS 2009 includes other supporting programme highlights from the German Dental Association (BZÄK) and the Association of German Dental Technicians' Guilds (VDZI).
Besides the 5th dentechnica Forum (27 March 2009 from 9:15 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the the Europasaal, Passage 10/11, the VDZI is again offering a platform for the new generation committed to the dental technician trade. On 26 March at 2:00 p.m., IDS will be the venue for the 12th Gysi Awards for trainees, where winners will receive their gold, silver and bronze medals. The award-winning works will be exhibited on the distributor level between Halls 10 and 11. At its exhibition stands in Hall 11.2 (S 010 and S 012), the VDZI shall be available as in past years to discuss and answer questions on matters of business, accounting technology and professional policy. The German Dental Association (BZÄK) shall be represented at the IDS 2009 along with the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Dentists, the German Society of Dentistry and Oral Medicine, the Institute of German Dentists, the trade magazine Zahnärztliche Mitteilungen' and the Stiftung Hilfswerk Deutscher Zahnärzte für Lepra- und Notgebiete (German dentists' foundation that provides emergency aid and treatment for leprosy sufferers). In addition to presentations on specialised topics, the Stand in Hall 11.2 (0 050/P 059) will offer dentists information on all the participating partner organisations and last but not least, the chance to meet with colleagues. Such opportunities make IDS Cologne, from 24 to 28 March 2009, the place to be in the world of dentistry. IDS takes place in Cologne every two years and is organized by the GFDI Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Dental-Industrie mbH, the commercial enterprise of the Association of German Dental Manufacturers (VDDI) and staged by Koelnmesse GmbH, Cologne."
