More than 1,250 companies from over 50 countries have already registered

Significantly more confirmations — particularly from abroad — than at the comparable point in the run-up to IDS 2011

Preparations for the 35th IDS – International Dental Show — are running in high gear nine months before the opening of the event. Already over 1,250 suppliers from more than 50 countries have registered for IDS 2013. That is a 13 percent improvement over the comparable point in the preparations for the previous event. More inquiries and registrations are coming in every day. National as well as international interest is higher than it was two years ago. Currently, 18 percent more foreign companies have registered than at the comparable point in time before the last IDS, and for domestic companies the figure is 8 percent higher. As a result, the halls at the Cologne exhibition centre, with a gross exhibition space of around 145,000 m², are already well filled. All together more than 1,900 companies from all over the world, including all of the international market leaders, are expected in Cologne from the 12th to 16th March 2013. GFDI – Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Dental-Industrie mbH, the commercial enterprise of the Association of German Dental Manufacturers (VDDI), and Koelnmesse have summed up the situation in a joint statement: “This excellent intermediate result already strongly suggests that the International Dental Show’s success story will continue. It impressively underscores the position of IDS as the leading international business and communication platform for the entire dental world. We are especially pleased to note that the trade fair is developing so well internationally, considering the difficult economic situation and the euro crisis.” The high level of international participation is underlined by the participation of numerous companies from Brazil, China, France, Great Britain, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Spain, Turkey and the USA. First time exhibitors are coming from all over the world — in particular, the number of exhibitors from France, Italy and Korea has grown.

Early on, visitors to IDS 2013 will be able to get information about what will be on show at the event in order to plan an optimal trade fair visit. By the autumn of 2012, the online exhibitor search will be accessible on the IDS website. Digital services including a dedicated IDS app for iPhone, BlackBerry and other operating systems will enable participants to prepare for the trade fair in a targeted manner and guarantee an efficient visit. This app, which is offered free of charge to users, will contain more than just the catalogue; it will also use an innovative navigation system to reliably guide visitors through the trade fair halls to any desired stand. Another digital service is Business-Matchmaking 365, a communications and business platform that allows visitors and exhibitors to contact each other directly, even before IDS 2013 begins. During the run-up to the event, visitors will also be able to use the online schedule planner to send appointment inquiries to exhibitors via e-mail, while the online route planner will provide visitors with an individual plan for their visit, including optimal routes through the halls to their desired exhibitors.

IDS takes place in Cologne every two years and is organized by the GFDI Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Dental-Industrie mbH and the commercial enterprise of the Association of German Dental Manufacturers (VDDI) and staged by Koelnmesse GmbH, Cologne.
