Positive interim results: Halls at IDS 2011 already well filled

Registration volume and internationality currently at exactly the same level as at the previous event – currently around 1,300 companies from 51 countries have confirmed their participation

Eight months prior to the start of the fair, preparations at Koelnmesse are already in full swing for the 34th edition of the IDS – International Dental Show. This is because both the volume of registrations as well as internationality are at similarly high levels to those of the same period for the previous event. Currently, around 1,300 companies from 51 countries have confirmed their participation, each day further enquiries and registrations are received. As a result, Halls 3, 4, 10 and 11 at the Cologne Exhibition Centre with gross exhibition space of around 138,000 m2 are already well filled. In total, from 22nd to 26th March 2011, around 1,800 companies from all over the world are expected in Cologne, which will once again be the key hub for the international dental world. Koelnmesse and the GFDI, Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Dental-Industrie mbH (Society for the Promotion of the Dental Industry), the commercial enterprise of the Association of German Dental Manufacturers (Verband der Deutschen Dental-Industrie e.V. - VDDI) – issued a joint statement on this as follows: “In view of the continuing difficult economic conditions, it is all the more impressive that IDS 2011 can build on the success of the last event and thus impressively underline its claim as the leading global fair for the industry. In this connection, there are indications that the demand from Germany is once again slightly picking up – coupled with the continuing strong presence of international companies in Cologne. “The high internationality of the event is already confirmed at the current time by the participation of numerous companies from Brazil, China, France, Great Britain, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Spain, Turkey and the USA. To ensure that the visitors at IDS 2011 can inform themselves in good time about the range of products and exhibits at the event and optimally plan their visit to the fair, the online exhibitor search on the IDS website will already be available as of autumn 2010. In addition, the Koelnmesse media package is contributing to targeted trade fair preparation and an efficient visit to the event. In order to facilitate contact-making between visitors and exhibitors, apart from the online fair catalogue with advanced search functions, the media package covers other services such as the online meeting planner, online route planner, business match-making service and not least the mobile fair guide. In the run-up to the event, visitors can thus already use the online meeting planner to simply send meeting and appointment enquiries per e-mail to the exhibitors, while the online route planner creates an individual visit plan including optimum route through the halls. The business match-making facility also involves a web-based tool, which visitors and exhibitors can already use before the start of IDS 2011to get into direct contact with each other. With such good preparation visitors can let the so-called Mobile Exhibition Guide show them the way at the fair itself. This is a catalogue and innovative navigation system for mobile terminal appliances all in one and, as a result, guides visitors purposefully through the halls and to the corresponding fair stands. IDS (International Dental Show) takes place in Cologne every two years in Cologne and is organized by the GFDI - Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Dental-Industrie mbH, the commercial enterprise of the Association of German Dental Manufacturers (VDDI), and staged by Koelnmesse GmbH, Cologne.
